Amberwood

The Lochmere Board of Directors met on July 15 to discuss the legal notice published by the Town of Cary regarding a public hearing to consider a resolution authorizing the Raleigh Housing Authority to acquire and rehabilitate Amberwood at Lochmere, a 340-unit apartment community located at 100 Eclipse Drive, for use as affordable housing for low- and moderate-income households.

The Board appreciates the calls and emails received over the past several days, the majority of which have expressed residents' concerns regarding this proposal.

The Board has also received offers of assistance from residents with relevant knowledge and experience in this area and appreciates their willingness to help. These offers will be considered as needed.

The Board has contacted legal counsel to obtain guidance regarding this matter.

In addition, requests for further information have been submitted to Cary Mayor Harold Weinbrecht and District C Council Member Bella Huang.

To ensure feedback is considered through the appropriate public process, residents should submit all comments and questions directly to the Town of Cary as outlined in the legal notice using the link found HERE.

Any pertinent updates will be shared with residents as additional information becomes available.
