
Bring the whole family and celebrate Halloween on Lake Lochmere for a night of swashbuckling adventure at the annual Lochmere Pirate Pumpkin Flotilla on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Watch pirates on board their ghostly vessels pull your carved pumpkins on the waters of Lake Lochmere. Sing along to spooky Halloween songs and enjoy this fun event.
Register each carved pumpkin below no later than Saturday, October 17, 2026 (registration details below). This event is FREE and all ages are welcome to carve a pumpkin.
Saturday, October 24, 2026 - Schedule of Events:
- 4:00-5:00 PM — Pumpkin Drop Off at Lake Lochmere Dock
- 6:45 PM - Pirate Pumpkin Flotilla Launch
GUIDELINES:
- BUY A PUMPKIN: Carve a spooky pumpkin at home
- PLEASE WRITE YOUR NAME ON YOUR PUMPKIN
- GET CREATIVE: Pumpkins should come with tops and be carved at home. To protect Lake Lochmere, pumpkins with artificial decorations (such as paint, glitter, marker food dye, paper or plastic) cannot be accepted.
- 4:00 - 5:00 PM DROP OFF YOUR PUMPKIN AT THE LAKE LOCHMERE DOCK. A light and floating device will be provided for each registered pumpkin.
- WATCH LAKE LOCHMERE GET SPOOKY!!! Find a spot along the bridge over Lake Lochmere. At twilight, join the pirates for spooky Halloween songs as the pirate ships pull pumpkins along the bridge.
- PUMPKIN RETURN: Pumpkins will be returned immediately after the event or can be picked up the next day at the HOA Main Office front porch. Unclaimed pumpkins will be disposed of in the pumpkin graveyard.
Please register HERE and bring your carved pumpkin to the event. Don't forget that the pirates can also use help with dop-off and pick-up of the pumpkins. This is a great opportunity for teenagers looking for community service hours.

Be sure to register on sign-up genius by Saturday, October 17, 2026 to reserve your flotation device and LED candle for your carved pumpkins. Don’t forget, you don’t have to be a kid to carve a pumpkin; adults are welcome to showcase their artistic abilities.
