Yoga classes are scheduled for Tuesdays at 5:45 PM in the Highlands Clubhouse (200 Loch Highlands Drive). Classes are complimentary and are available to Lochmere residents only. The instructor is Bonnye Hur.
Bonnye's classes are appropriate for all levels of yoga experience and fitness level. She will guide you though each posture and offer modification of poses that may be more challenging than others. Yoga is about tuning into your body and breath, listening with awareness to what your body needs. Classes will typically start with a short breathing and meditation practice, and end with relaxation and restorative stretches. Throughout the class we will build upon standing poses and some vinyasa flow to build strength, flexibility and balance.
Bonnye Hur has been living adjacent to Lochmere since 1993 and has been practicing yoga since 1998. Bonnye practices traditional, eastern-style Hatha yoga, with an emphasis on the centering and connection of mind, body, and spirit. She recently undertook a 200-hour yoga teacher training program based out of Moving Mantra Yoga Studio in North Raleigh and has been teaching to friends and co-workers for over a year. She is very excited to work with her neighbors and share her love of yoga with the community.
